Scholarship Fund

______________

Over the years, we follow up on the progress of our students, while they await documentation that allows them to enter another country, and after they relocate.

We discovered there have been many challenges for them along the way, including test and application fees for universities, tuition and boarding costs, and necessary computers for learning at school. Our scholarship fund allows us to offer financial support to cover expenses that would otherwise be prohibitive for them.

Here are brief descriptions of REAL’s scholarship recipients:
.
Parisa had to flee Afghanistan when she was 9 years old. Seven years later she arrived on Lesvos in 2017 with no high school education. In 2019, after Parisa reunited with her family in Germany, home life continued to be traumatizing.

REAL helped Parisa attend and graduate from a boarding International Baccalaureate high school.

Arash and his family fled Iran in 2019 because of persecution by the regime. They lived in refugee camps, including Moria, in Lesvos, Greece, until 2023, when they moved to Athens. Arash obtained a scholarship to an international high school, and REAL helped Arash participate in two international school trips and buy a new computer.

He will start University in Athens September 2025.

Zahra’s determination to leave Afghanistan so she could continue her education initially landed her in Pakistan.

REAL helped Zahra travel to Canada, where she was accepted into a college and could pursue her educational dreams.
